What is Uni-vision day?

Uni-vision day is an inspiring day on Saturday 28 June 2025 where experts from the arts, science and teaching will help you hone your vision of the future. This is event is on invitation. 

Who can enter?

Anyone aged 16 and above with a fresh vision for the future can enter.

Can we enter as a group?

Yes, you can enter as an individual, duo or group.

What is the entry deadline?

Registration is now closed. Thank you for all the beautiful and inspiring submissions! We'll be working with a selection of these Uni-Visionaries during the Uni-Visionary Day.

What if I’m not sure what creative format to use?

We expect you to consider this already so you can choose a format that suits you.

Can I change the creative format at a later date?

Yes you can. You will receive an email confirming your entry. This will contain a link that you can use to change or add to your idea. You can do so as often as you like until the 12 June deadline.

Can I submit multiple ideas?

No, you can only submit one idea.  Choose the vision and creative form you are most passionate about.

How will the Uni-visionaries and winners be chosen?

A jury will select Uni-visionaries based on the creativity, originality and relevance of their vision for the future of studying at Leiden University. In the last phase, a public vote will help decide the final three winners.

Who will be on the jury?

This will be announced later. The jury will be a mix of students and professionals from the arts, academia and the world of futures thinkers.

What will I win?

The three winners will have the unique opportunity of a production budget to create their work and present or perform it at events and exhibitions in Leiden and The Hague during Leiden University’s jubilee year.

Can I use AI?

Yes, you can use AI both for submitting your entry and for the final creative form.

How much time will taking part require?

How much time you will need depends on the form and detail of your entry. In the first phase you submit your vision of the future, which can take anything from five minutes to five hours. You can make it as detailed as you like (in max. 300 words), but remember: this is your first vision and that's what we want to see.

If you are invited to Uni-vision day (28 June), you are expected to attend the entire afternoon. You will continue to develop your work after the Uni-visionary day. How much time you need will depend on the form and complexity of your vision.

Do I have to pay to enter?

No, you do not have to pay to enter.
