What was Uni-visions?
Uni-visions was a call to dreamers, thinkers and makers to imagine what studying at Leiden University might look like 50 years from then, in the year 2075. To celebrate the university’s 450th anniversary, we invited everyone to share their vision of the future in any creative form: a poem, painting, piece of music, video, story or other artistic expression.
From all submissions, 25 uni-visionaries were selected to further develop their ideas during the Uni-vision Day, together with futurists, researchers and artists.
We then reached the exciting final stage: from the ten finalists chosen by our jury, three winners were selected to bring their vision to life. Thanks to the contributions of all participants and the votes of the public, these ideas were given a platform and showed how rich and diverse the future of studying could be.
Uni-visions demonstrated that looking ahead and creative imagination were not only inspiring but also essential: they helped to signal future opportunities and challenges and prepared us for what lay ahead. By dreaming and creating together, we became aware of the possibilities and responsibilities, that the future of studying entailed.
